Filesmaster Companion 3.3

The 'Companion' version of Filesmaster is specifically designed to function in conjunction with the Filesmaster application installed on Samsung Gear S2/S3/Sport or Gear Fit 2/Fit Pro smartwatches. The Android variant of Filesmaster is required exclusively for transferring files between a smartphone and smartwatch via Bluetooth connectivity.

This Android plugin should be installed upon the successful installation of:

1. Filesmaster on Gear S2/S3/Sport/Galaxy Watch/Galaxy Watch 3.
2. Filesmaster Watch on Gear Fit 2/Fit Pro.

Samsung notes that when Filesmaster is installed from the Samsung Apps Store on the Gear S2, the Android version for smartphones will automatically be installed. If this does not occur, it can be manually obtained from the Google Play Store.

Filesmaster stands out as an extensive and comprehensive file explorer available in the store, serving three primary functions: as a file browser, file viewer/player, and file transfer tool.

This application allows users to navigate all files stored on their Gear smartwatch, offering functionalities such as creating directories and executing file management operations like copying, moving, and deleting files and folders. Additionally, it can open various file types directly from within the app.

Available operations for files and folders include:

• Create folders
• Delete files/folders
• Copy files
• Move files
• Rename files
• Show/Play/View (actions depend on file type)
• Show all information about a file
• Send/Share a file to a phone/tablet
• Send/Share a file between smartwatches

Filesmaster supports various media operations such as:

• Viewing TXT and HTML files
• Display of image files either individually or in a slideshow format
• Playing video files with subtitle support (currently SRT format)
• Playing all types of audio files

The application also provides live system metrics including:

• CPU usage
• Battery level
• Status of all mounted storage (free and used space in bytes)

Filesmaster facilitates bidirectional file transfers (smartwatch to phone and vice versa), along with direct file transfers between two smartwatches via Bluetooth.

Please note that Filesmaster for Android operates in the background without a user interface.

GUIDES FOR TRANSFERRING FILES BETWEEN GEAR AND PHONE:

To copy files from phone to Gear:

1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both your phone and smartwatch. Restart your watch if it still indicates a disconnection.
2. Select a file on your phone (e.g., holidays.jpg in the Gallery app). Long-press to bring up options or use the top bar. Choose the Share or Send option.
3. A list of applications that can handle the chosen file type will appear. Select Filesmaster to complete the transfer. Progress will be indicated on the smartwatch, with received files organized into appropriate folders (e.g., images/, documents/, video/).

To copy a file from Gear to phone:

1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both your phone and smartwatch.
2. Open Filesmaster on your smartwatch and long-press the desired file to send. A dialog will appear with action options; select 'Send'. You will see a progress dialog during transfer, followed by a notification of where the file was saved on your phone.

Please be aware that the send/share action will only be visible when both devices are connected via Bluetooth. You can verify connection status in the ‘About’ section of Filesmaster. Look for "Connected to phone: Yes."
